DAVE DAWSON
MISSION
THEOLOGY
|
Dave Dawson, Founder of Equipping The Saints,
has been involved in the training of lay people for nearly forty years. As a highly effective communicator, Dave is an
experienced teacher and conference speaker. He has taught Equipping The Saints at Denver Conservative Baptist Seminary, Dallas Bible
College, and at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, under Dr. Roy Fish. For twelve years he conducted a year-long internship on
training laymen to do the work of ministry for the Field Education Department of Dallas Theological Seminary. Dave was
the National Director for The Navigators for twelve years in Singapore. It was there
that Equipping The Saints was developed to equip lay people. Dave is the father of four grown children,
and lives with his wife, Mary, in Dallas, Texas. He travels extensively
throughout America, Asia, Europe, the Eastern Block and Africa in cooperation
with mission agencies and other groups to develop Equipping The Saints and discipleship training in national and
international churches and denominations.
|
The Mission of Equipping The Saints is to help churches and mission
organizations to train ordinary lay people to do the work of ministry and to edify the Body of Christ as
instructed in Ephesians 4:12. Equipping The Saints seeks to practically
balance the Great Commandment of Jesus Christ with His Great Commission
in the lives of lay people through hands-on training programs.
|
Equipping The Saints is not
associated with any church or denomination however, it does hold fast to
the fundamental tenets of the Christian Faith as articulated in the Apostles
Creed. Equippint The Saints affirms truth
that can be proven through sound
biblical exegesis and leaves the interpretation of issues which could be
divisive to each organization or denomination. The inter-denominational
perspective found in Equippint The Saints' materials and
training programs
is strictly maintained so that it may serve along-side conservative, evangelical
and fundamental Bible-based churches and organizations.
Doctrinal Statement
We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments
as verbally inspired by God, and inerrant in the original writings, and
that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy
Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.
We believe that man was created in the image of God; that
he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also that
spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings
are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral
responsibility become sinners in thought, word and deed.
We believe that the Lord Jesus died for our sins according
to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and
all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of
our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, in His present life there for us,
as High Priest and Advocate
We believe in "that blessed hope," the personal, and imminent
return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus
Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of
God.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and
unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting,
conscious punishment of the lost.
